Description

New JAWS Groove Design
The JAWS MD5 features our proprietary new JAWS groove designed to a 37º wall angle, an extreme difference vs. the 5º used in MD4.
This elevates the groove-edge sharpness to a new level, for maximum grip and spin from all types of lies.
JAWS grooves are particularly effective from 80 yards and in, producing a player preferred “one hop and stop” trajectory.

Groove-In-Groove Technology
JAWS MD5 also incorporates our proven Groove-In-Groove Technology. These milled Micro-Positive grooves are placed in the flat parts of the face for added surface roughness and grip. Three raised micro-ridges are featured between each groove, adding grip to the ball’s cover to increase spin on a variety of shots. This combination of JAWS grooves plus micro-grooves provides 84 different contact points to promote more spin.

Not Just High, Consistent Spin
It’s hard to save shots if you can’t predict how the ball will behave. Each JAWS groove is rendered to the tightest tolerances we’ve ever achieved, promoting consistent spin-rates from shot to shot.
JAWS adds a higher level of consistency that inspires confidence for all scoring zone shots.

Unparalleled Feel Unique to Callaway Wedges
Roger Cleveland is a master at delivering a uniquely satisfying feel by combining the right designs with the right materials. JAWS MD5 is constructed from 8620 mild carbon steel and the Center of Gravity of the wedges is precisely placed to create a soft, yet substantial feel.

New Low Bounce W-Grind and Updated C-Grind
The new Low-bounce W Grind is a direct result of Tour player feedback. Tour pros asked for a new grind that delivers increased playability around the green while still allowing them to employ the sole’s entire bounce on full shots. Roger answered by increasing the sole-taper and heel relief. The new W Grind is available in two lofts: 58º and 60º.

We’ve also updated our C-grind to increase versatility around the green by reducing the bounce angle, widening the middle section of the sole and increasing the heel relief.

Premium Shape, Construction and Finish

Creating a great wedge shape requires the eye of an artist and the skill of an engineer; a rare combination that our Chief Wedge Designer Roger Cleveland has honed in the 23 years he’s designed wedges for Callaway. He’s worked his magic again with JAWS MD5, which is appealing from all angles, especially behind the ball, whether it’s square or open.

JAWS MD5 wedges lofted from 46º to 52º are slightly smaller compared to wedges lofted 54º and above, to create a natural shape-progression from the short-irons (8- and 9-) to the highest lofted wedges. These wedges boast precise and appealing detailing that give them a premium look. They retain the row of four ports and medallions on the back of the head that make our wedges immediately identifiable. Two premium finish options are available: Platinum Chrome and Tour Grey, both are beautiful and durable.

Stock Shafts

True Temper Dynamic Gold 115 Tour Issue Steel is designed as a lightweight alternative to the #1 wedge shaft in the history of the game. For those who play a lightweight iron shaft, playing a lightweight wedge shaft only makes sense as it provides an ideal weight transition from your irons to wedges. Having this seamless transition allows players a more natural feel in their wedges, leading to better consistency and lower scores. It is a mid-low launch and spin wedge shaft that is optimal for golfers who play iron shafts weighing 105g or less.
KBS Tour-V Steel: The KBS TOUR-V is a lightweight product that features larger outer diameters, resulting in a stable tip section and tight shot dispersion. For players that prefer a lighter weight shaft and less ball spin, the KBS TOUR-V is the ideal shaft option.
With a stip tip section, an advance step pattern, higher CG location and firmer shaft design, the KBS Tour-V  offers tight dispersion in a lightweight design.
KBS Tour Steel: The KBS TOUR is Kim Braly’s signature shaft and is ideal for players desiring shot versatility and mid trajectory. Incorporating unique KBS technology, the KBS TOUR maximizes energy transfer for increased shot control. The KBS TOUR offers a smooth, responsive feel and is the preferred model by several of the best golfers in the world.
Compared to Dynamic Gold, the KBS Tour offers 5% lower trajectory, 5% less spin and 5% more distance. KBS Tour offers greater stability, playability and feel.
True Temper Dynamic Gold Steel: Dynamic Gold is the Gold Standard by which all other iron shafts are measured. It is the most successful shaft in the history of golf and still continues to dominate on professional tours each and every year. Dynamic Gold is a tour-weighted shaft that is designed for players seeking a low, penetrating ball flight for optimum control and accuracy.
Dynamic Gold is designed for players with a moderate tempo, looking for a low trajectory and spin

Exotic Shafts

Nippon N.S Pro 950GH Neo Steel: The N.S Pro 950GH Neo was developed with the popularity of larger iron head designs with strong lofts and lower center of gravities in mind. While inheriting the superb handling and directional accuracy of the 960GH, neo better matches today’s iron heads with rigid characteristics refined by patented processes from our tour winning N.S Pro Modus 3 Multi Heat Treatment technology (MHT) and Multi Shape Adjustment technology (MSA).
The same light feeling as before is better matched to new high-performance irons. A higher rigidity in the middle provides a sense of acceleration that secures spin and headspeed.
Nippon N.S Pro Modus 3 120 Steel: Unique development concept designed for control. The N.S. PRO Modus 3 series shafts are popular with touring pros because they offer optimal performance in three key areas. The desired trajectory as a result of the unique structure of a stiff tip section and softer midsection. Accurate distances due to the unique raw steel material and accompanying heat treatment. And tight dispersion coming from the exacting tolerances of the highest quality level. The high-rigidity design of the tip steadies impact to help minimize unwanted spin while creating a stronger trajectory. The low rigidity in the midsection improves shaft control so the player with any tempo can more easily control their shots, while the low but rigidity improves swing tempo and contributes to a comfortable, smoother feeling upon impact.
Project X Steel: Project X iron shafts are trusted by the best players in the world and are a staple in golf shaft design. Maintaining a stout profile throughout the entire shaft, Project X is a preferred choice by stronger swingers looking for a flat, penetrating ball flight and unmatched stability.
Project X Steel is designed for players with a fast tempo, looking for a low trajectory and spin
Project X LS Steel: Project X LS started as an engineering concept to create a shaft to best suit the increasingly stronger golfer. The new era of elite-level golfers are stronger, more athletic and faster than ever, and because of this, they naturally create more launch and spin. With this in mind, we tasked our engineers with one thing—to create the lowest launching and spinning steel golf shaft on the market. The result was a shaft that launched a degree lower and spun up to 500 rpm less than its predecessor. Project X LS (Low Spin) is the next evolution of the original Project X. It features an ultra-stable and stiff design that minimizes spin while providing a tight feel to keep up with even the strongest swingers on Tour.
Project X LS is designed for players with a fast tempo, looking for a low trajectory and spin.
