The technology behind the performance of the TB-5 FORGED is the unique “Theater Blade” structure on the back face. The Theater Blade was named for its smooth, flowing face and thickness resemble a theater. The unique shape started with eliminating both the toe and heel walls of the cavity structure. The discretionary weight gained was then distributed to thicken the club, mainly on the outer periphery, for functionality and to suppress vibrations at impact. For the TB-5('25) the thickness of the impact area has been improved to be thicker than the previous model while maintaining the functionality of the theater blade structure. The slits on the toe and heel create discretionary weight which is then strategically distributed to areas that need it most, enhancing the impact experience.
While maintaining the reassuring head size and the large, sweet spot that produces excellent distance and direction, the thickness of the top blade, the appearance of the neck, and the face progression have been updated for the TB-5('25) iron to suit the preferences of a wide variety of players. The pure feel of the impact, which is a characteristic of one-piece forged structures, cannot be achieved with composite structures. The TB-5('25) Iron is forged from super mild soft steel S20C, which delivers forgiveness while also combining the feel and beauty of a muscle back iron.
The TB-5('25) utilizes the Universal Sole grind borrowed from the DJ series wedge and adapted for iron play. This versatile grind helps prevent digging and is forgiving from a wide variety of lies. Better turf interaction equals better and more consistent impact leading to straighter shots and more distance.
