In a groundbreaking move, Scotty Cameron has unveiled the 2025 Studio Style line, marking a significant evolution in putter design that seamlessly blends tradition with cutting-edge technology.
The 2025 Studio Style line pays homage to the classic designs that have made Scotty Cameron a revered name in golf. Founder and Master Craftsman Scotty Cameron describes the collection as "a bold statement of the future with a nod to the past." While the name evokes nostalgia, the technology and manufacturing methods are entirely contemporary, aiming to deliver remarkable feel and consistent performance.
At the heart of these new putters lies the Studio Carbon Steel (SCS) face insert. Selected after extensive testing for its superior damping capacity, carbon steel offers a softer sound and feel compared to traditional materials like stainless steel or aluminum. To enhance durability and prevent corrosion—a common issue with carbon steel—the putters undergo an electroless nickel plating process. This ensures that golfers experience the coveted soft feel of carbon steel without compromising longevity.
A standout feature of the 2025 Studio Style putters is the chain-link face milling technology. This unique milling pattern has been meticulously developed to produce an ideal combination of soft sound and preferred roll characteristics. The result is a putter face that not only feels softer upon impact but also provides golfers with the confidence to make assertive strokes, particularly on short to mid-range putts where precision is crucial.
Responding to the evolving preferences of golfers, Scotty Cameron has completely redesigned the mid-mallet offerings in this line. The Fastback and Squareback models now feature "ring-weighted," or perimeter-weighted, designs that enhance forgiveness and stability in a compact shape. Crafted using a combination of 303 stainless steel and 6061 aircraft aluminum, these putters also incorporate the SCS face insert and a high-contrast multi-material alignment system. This design aids players in maintaining a square putter face through impact, promoting a more consistent and accurate stroke.
For golfers seeking additional stability, the 2025 Studio Style line includes counterbalanced Long Design models in the Fastback and Squareback 2 configurations. These putters are built longer at 38 inches and are equipped with heavier tungsten head weights and a 17-inch, 135-gram pistol-style grip. This design helps to quiet the player's hands and engage the shoulders, fostering a smoother and more controlled putting stroke.
Scotty Cameron now offers four models in left-handed configurations: the Newport 2, Newport 2.5 Plus, Fastback 1.5, and Catalina. This ensures that left-handed players have access to the same advanced technology and design features as their right-handed counterparts.
The 2025 Studio Style line comprises twelve distinct models, each available in 33", 34", and 35" lengths, with specific neck and shaft configurations to cater to individual preferences. From the classic Newport and Newport 2 designs to the reimagined Squareback and Fastback models, golfers are sure to find a putter that complements their style and enhances their performance.
